SOUND TESTS AND SITE INSPECTIONS

The plots visited for these checks are selected on a random basis from all those registered to use the robustdetails® scheme.

This inspection and testing measures the success of our scheme, helps identify trends and issues relating to sound attenuation.

Since the scheme was founded in 2004 over 98% of our test results met or exceeded the minimum performance standards required by Building Regulations.

If a test result falls below the required performance standard, you will be notified promptly and we will be obliged to notify the relevant Building Control Body (BCB). The BCB may then ask you to carry out remedial work and/or pre-completion sound testing. So far, no correctly built Robust Detail has failed a random sample sound test.
